The SHAPE-LOCK™ HD Core which powered the original Virtual Gravity Nano produced a fast revving action that helped bowlers create more ball motion and total hook. While the new nanotech cover provided a lot of sizzle, unless it's paired with a quality weight block or core you will never see the advantage of either.
In looking for different ways to expand the benefits of nanotechnology, Storm explored several additive options to the base NRG coverstock and found that adding mica to this shell material created a cleaner glide through the heads without sacrificing any bof its ability to handle larger amounts of oil. You'll see increased entry angle with the new Virtual Gravity Nano Pearl with simultaneous amplified oil traction usually reserved for textured solids.

Storm is known for producing the best high performance balls on the market. When the Virtual Gravity was released in 2008, it not only turned heads but gave bowlers of all skill levels an unprecedented amount of hook on even the oiliest lanes imaginable.
The new Virtual Gravity Nano is intended to create a similar yet stronger ball motion built specifically for heavy oil. This can be accomplished with either a stronger coverstock (texture) or more aggressive weight block (lower radius of gyration or increased differential).

Looking to expand the Master Line with additional performance options, our product development team determined that, with the successes and feedback from bowlers around the globe, the series needed to expand with a new coverstock option. A highly polished pearl blend made the most sense being that we were looking to create a stronger move to the pocket.

The Prodigy?s pearl R2X material included enhanced traction mica (ETM) and a 4000-grit Abralon® texture to help control the midlane with reading as early as the 2000-grit solid Marvel. So, taking the ETM out of shell and reducing the surface roughness with a 1500-grit polish, created more of a skid-flip reaction that bowlers love. Throw the Marvel Pearl out to the dry and watch it marvelously recover every time!

Remember that it's the weight block/core that determines the roll pattern due to its migration path, and the Centripetal™ core's unique shape will power this new Marvel Pearl as well. The beauty of this shape is that it? easy to drill and produces a very predictable motion that really packs a punch.

Our first enterprise was to build the new weight block from the ground up. Showcasing the Master Line, the Prodigy features an all-new Centripetal™ core design that would make even the most demanding engineer proud.

The shape of the new Centripetal core allows for consistency of dynamic design after drilling. What this means is that you can drill the Prodigy with a variety of layouts and guarantee consistent, predictable results from break point to pocket.

For the new Frantic™, we wanted a reliable, proven coverstock that would provide a clean glide through the heads and attack the drier boards on the backend. R2S™, the second generation of Reactor™ coverstock material, is the perfect choice as it does just that.

With a pearl and a solid version available in the line, we prepared a hybrid version to see if it blended both power and control. Armed with the exact same coverstock as the Hy-Road™, it proved itself quickly during the testing process and moved on to the next phase, surface preparation.

With a 1500-grit polished finish, the new Frantic was impressive during C.A.T.S.® testing as it created three times the entry angle of the 2Furious™.

Looking under the hood, you’ll find the innovative N.O.S. ™ Core. When compared with the Turbine™ Core, we created an increase of flare potential by more than 15% with this higher volume core. Wrap this core with the same coverstock as the Hy-Road and it’s easy to see why the bowling world is sure to be frantic over this new masterpiece!

Looking for more traction in the midlane and an earlier break point, our development team set out on a journey to find an ideal combination of coverstock, surface preparation, and weight block.

The Victory Road’s inverted Fe³ technology™ weight block will power the solid version as well. It’s a true performer, a real workhorse that gets the job done every time.

Using CATS technology to evaluate the proper shell and surface, the team analyzed several combinations and chose the solid R2S cover with a 3000-grit Abralon® finish. This gave the new Victory Road Solid just the right amount of roll in the midlane with ample backend hook, just what every bowler wants. This new 3000-grit finish gave us a different look and proved to be a great addition to our lineup of finish options.

Being the leaders in high performance equipment, Storm is always looking for ways to make our line more complete. With the growing popularity of Sport Bowling and more challenging lane conditions, we saw a need to offer bowlers a ball to compete in those environments.

Many of these patterns are shorter with less volume. Today’s modern reactive urethane bowling balls create a tremendous amount of friction with the lane surface, and many of these balls do not perform well on shorter, more challenging patterns.

Our intent was to design a "pure" urethane coverstock with less surface friction for those challenging patterns along with a core combination that would complement.

We developed the U2S™ coverstock, a second generation of U2000™. It enables one to get length with out the over-reaction that resin sometimes creates. Even though it’s made of a pure urethane material it’s dynamic enough to handle today’s lane conditioners.

The Turbine™ core creates ample flare to ensure fresh coverstock is always touching the lane. This translates into additional friction to create ample entry angle, without generating an over/under reaction down lane.

The Natural™ integrates classic reaction with today’s modern technology to deliver unbeatable performance.
