Technology The Radical Inferno® is the first ball to take full advantage of Brunswick’s new Urethane casting machine. The machine is part of a custom built “State-of-the-Art” room full of high-tech equipment that incorporates enhanced control over processing parameters. This machine includes a sensor system that monitors temperatures, pressures and flow rates at every important point in the casting process. Our new mixing head is multi-color and particle capable. This all new system allows the Brunswick R&D team the unprecedented ability to fine tune bowling ball performance.

Octane Coverstock Our new Urethane casting machine has enabled Brunswick to produce a new class of Reactive coverstock. Octane coverstock is the result of 3 years of Research and Development into both materials technology and Urethane processing parameters. The same meticulous screening of materials that produced the Activator coverstock family has now resulted in Octane. Improved back-end traction with a sharper breakpoint, Octane is a perfect complement to the Activator coverstock balls known for their early revving ball reaction.

Reaction Characteristics The Radical Inferno is in the highly angular ball reaction class with a high traction breakpoint that is sharp, powerful and continuous. With its high gloss polish surface the Radical Inferno gets down the lane and through the heads with ease. What is unique about the Radical is its ability the make a sharp, continuous turn to the pocket with more traction at the breakpoint. Our ball test group has commented at length about their ability to keep their speed up with the Radical Inferno, without the ball losing traction down lane in heavy oil or heavy carrydown. The Radical is the best they have ever seen in a highly polished Brunswick ball.

Reaction Characteristics - Smokin’ Hot The Inferno line has been a tremendous success for Brunswick. Defined by Ultra-Low RG Core Systems and Activator coverstock technology, the Inferno line is known for its clean front-ends and a quick revving core that helps create mid-lane recovery and a hard arcing back-end reaction. The Smokin’ Inferno debuts the latest addition to the Activator Coverstock family. Activator Advance is a new version of Activator coverstock technology that matches up best to a higher RG core system, compared to other Inferno’s, delivering more back-end hooking action and the most angular Inferno to date.

The Activator Advance coverstock has been RG matched to produce maximum forgiveness and versatility. The RG chosen for the Smokin’ Inferno produces a ball that is less sensitive to backend and ball track transitions than higher or lower RG options that were tested.

The Smokin’ Inferno combines design elements in a unique way that produces spectacular results. Low-RG but very angular. A High Gloss Polish surface with a high hook potential. The Total Inferno® is the second ball to take full advantage of Brunswick’s new Urethane casting machine. By fusing a new additive with new processing technology, Brunswick has created a version of Octane coverstock with more back-end grip.

With increased grip in light oil and in the dry, Octane Gription coverstock gives the Total Inferno a length similar to other rough buffed Brunswick balls but with more response late in the mid-lane, on the back-ends and on the thickest of carrydown. Improved grip has another advantage. The Total Inferno responds less to oil moving down the lane, minimizing reaction changes due to carrydown. The increase in down lane hooking action delivers a ball with both high hook potential and high angularity on today’s lane conditions.

The Total Inferno uses the lowest RG core Brunswick has ever put in a bowling ball. A fast revving, super-ultra-low-RG-core helps the Total Inferno deliver great mid-lane recovery. Then, Octane Gription coverstock takes over and produces a stronger version of the move made famous by the Absolute Inferno; angular but controllable, strong but continuous. This strong down lane move delivers the highest hook potential Brunswick has achieved in a pearlized ball.

Get Twisted! The Twisted Fury expands and upgrades the Fury line by introducing both a new core and new coverstock to the market. The Twisted Fury is comprised of an asymmetric version of the Torsion™Core and the EnMotion™ Reactive coverstock.

The symmetric version of the Torsion core used in the original Fury was based on triangular geometry. The Asymmetric version is based on a six-sided polygon. The inner core of a 16-pound Twisted Fury weighs in at 6.36 pounds, resulting in a medium RG that helps push the aggressive EnMotion coverstock down the lane. Brunswick has put a new twist on core design so you can twist it up better on the lanes.

XLerated Pin Destructing Power. The Twisted Fury Destruction introduces Brunswick's new XLERATOR coverstock, combining length you can count on with the back-end reaction you crave to provide pin destructing power.
Coverstock: The new XLerator coverstock has been formulated with two main goals in mind. First, to create length through the heads, both when they're fresh and after they've broken down. Second, to create a strong angular move at the breakpoint in order to provide increased pin-carrying ball reaction. The XLerator coverstock succeeds at achieving both of these goals, giving you unparalleled reaction with a ball that gets to the spot and returns hard to the pocket.
Core: Good coverstocks become great when paired with a core that accentuates their strengths. After testing a wide range of cores (both new and old designs) with the new XLerator coverstock, the core that gave the absolute best reaction was the Torsion Asymmetric Core. This core/coverstock combo make the Twisted Fury Destruction rev up hard and hug the lane without hooking early. The medium RG asymmetric design of the core then turns loose the power of the coverstock on the back-end, unleashing destructive force on the pins.

Reaction Characteristics The Ultimate Inferno is a heavy oil ball designed for bowlers who prefer Reactive over Particle coverstocks. The Ultimate Inferno uses the same core as the original Inferno but combines it with a solid 800-grit dull version of Activator coverstock.

Compared to the original Inferno: •The Ultimate Inferno will match-up better to oily lane conditions, longer patterns and heavy carry down. •The Ultimate Inferno will match-up better for bowlers who struggle with excessively long ball reaction. •The Ultimate Inferno will match-up better on heavily oiled - over/under lane conditions.

Brunswick’s new Activator Coverstock has quickly established a reputation for excellence in ball reaction, durability and longevity of ball reaction. On the lanes, Activator Coverstock is clean through the heads with excellent mid-lane recovery and a strong arcing back-end reaction that creates powerful pin action. Owners of the original Inferno have reported that it requires less frequent resurfacing and rejuvenations and is more resistant to cracking than other reactive coverstock balls.

Utility •Out of the box: The Ultimate Inferno is an ideal heavy oil ball for players wanting to use a Reactive coverstock. •When shined: Using Brunswick’s Factory Finish High Gloss Polish the total hooking action of the Ultimate Inferno can be reduced and the arc made more skid/snap.

Reaction Setup The Brunswick Inferno can be drilled using the standard drilling techniques developed for two-piece balls, see the included drilling instructions for reaction characteristics and layout details.

The Ultimate Inferno is finished with a dull 800-grit surface finish which increases its hooking action in the oil. Dull surface finishes can sometimes hook too early resulting in reduced backend reaction and hitting power. To increase length, polish the surface with Brunswick’s Factory Finish High Gloss Polish.

The Perfect Rival was developed to complement both the Rival and Arch Rival in terms of total hook. This is the third ball in the series and features another great shell developed by the chemists at EBI called “Perfect 300”. The chemistry produces more friction than the Arch Rival’s 300 Plus, but less than the original shell on the Rival. Perfect 300, combined with our proven Spinner core, produce a ball that is great when there is oil left of your target line out of the box, and with some polish will outperform both previous models on the backend of the lane.

The Awesome Hook bowling ball by Morich produces a stronger, more continuous total hook than the Total Shock & Awe. The dual cap design allows for the core to rev on its axis longer, thus conserving motion dynamics even with a strong/dull cover.
